"Sorry"s all around for my faults. Next time I'll play with the configuration more extensively before posting here or on the tracker.

Though, for future reference, how will I be able to tell the difference between a bug and my computer being bad?

Max lights/pass didn't fix anything. I'm fine with running standard lighting. My computer is old so as long as I can run the game I'm happy. - You didn't update your drivers - You wrote that with the updated drivers you are still having problems with advanced and best lighting I thought I had comple...

Hmm, they actually don't appear when I run with "advanced" lighting. It only seems to happen with "best." Edit: It seems that D2X will automatically switch the lighting from "advanced" to "standard" after I first load a level with "advanced" lighting...

Well, it'll be a month before I can get fresh installs from the CD. For now, I'll just avoid the best or high lighting, because nothing seems to be wrong when I run with standard.

Nope, no errors at all that I can see in the .log. Here's a screenshot of the second level after loading the first (to observe the bad textures), reloading the level, then proceeding to the second level: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v386/sir_raidsalot/weird3.jpg I crashed when I tried to captur...

The problem occurs only when Lighting is turned to "High" or "Best." "Standard" and "Basic" lighting both work fine from the beginning.

Sure, I can get a screenshot of the second level.

If I load a different mission from the first one the textures are fine. I even loaded a level I hadn't visited yet and the textures were fine after visiting a messy level first. If I beat a level, the textures in the next level are slightly messed up. Although it looks more to do with lighted faces ...

...Weird. The texture problem isn't fixed the first time I load a mission in D2X, but if I quit that mission and reload it without closing D2X the textures are fine.

Catalyst driver you say? Well that makes finding an update easier... Eureka! An updated driver allows me to use my weapons! Your probably pretty outdated driver was good enough to locate these flaws in the shaders, so I am not gonna chop your head off for not updating first. Much appreciated. :)

Hmm, the device manager doesn't want to update the driver. Scouring AMD's site didn't help either.
My dad (guru that he is) found the driver update last time I updated, so when he gets online I'll ask him where he found it and get the newest version.

I don't have all of the files that were installed with D2. I deleted all the ones I didn't need after I followed the instructions to install D2X. And my installation CDs are back at home, and school won't be out for another month. I have no d2.exe or anything to check. I'm pretty sure my drivers are...

Same errors. :( Also, a new texture problem (maybe related, maybe not) popped up: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v386/sir_raidsalot/weird2.jpg Karx: The new .log is on the ticket. Which driver are you referring to? My video one, I presume? Pokeman: I initially tried minimum settings, they had no ...

It didn't fix it. :( I can upload another .log and see if there's anything different. If it helps, when I am able to fire my lasers I get a weird streak offscreen the same color as the laser: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v386/sir_raidsalot/weird.jpg The streaks don't appear to be coming from an...
