Lol for your last post. I looked at fixing the sharepath and ran into the same problem you are right now. Where is $datapath coming from to set the sharepath? On my system it gets set to /usr/local/share. If I'd figured it out I would have sent you a patch by now. So for now I just make sure to run ...

Check to make sure that d2x.ini is a unix type text file and not a windows/dos type text file. If it is dos2unix can convert the file. I've had that bite me a couple of times.

I debugged the program and I fixed the bug regarding the dialog box crashing the program. But saying use an OS that works doesn't fix the problem. How about trying to debug the program better. ;)

So I now see that the segfault is mostly working now in Linux instead of going into the infinite loop. But now that the segfault actually causes the game to shutdown the bugs actually cause program failure which means more bugs! Overriding the lovely signal handlers is just so much fun!

I miss being able to shoot down missiles. :( Since the turning radius of homing missiles was turned up it was nice to be able to have a counter to that and shooting missiles was nice. Maybe it is just me that is missing this feature. Other than that the game is stable.

I already thought that d2x-xl required glsl which means opengl 1.5 minimum. That means ATI 9600 or newer, or an nvidia graphics card. Supposedly my geforce 2 supports opengl 1.5 but I haven't tried d2x-xl on it. So if an IGP doesn't support GLSL then it shouldn't be reporting opengl 1.5 or newer. I ...

Yup and behold there are bugs. Perhaps I'll get around to reporting the bugs since I can't quit the game in the middle of a level. Debug build time!

Thanks for fixing three of my menu crasher bugs. It is nice being able to go through and set the different options without the game freezing on me. :D

The log output is coming from emerge --info on my computer. chost is set to x86_64-pc-linux-gnu, and CFLAGS="-O2 -march=k8 -pipe" is what the whole system was compiled at. However I didn't change the compile settings for d2x-xl. Regardless though any linux computer with an x86_64 install w...

I have not been messing with the compiler options. Here is sample output to show I haven't done anything. gcc -I ./arch/linux/include -I/usr/include/SDL -D_GNU_SOURCE=1 -D_REENTRANT -pipe -O3 -g -Wall -Wno-char-subscripts -o d2x-xl 2d/lib2d.a main/libmain.a audio/libaudio.a console/libconsole.a menu...
