I have a link to the original Descent 1 source code, if anyone is interested: http://www.descent2.com/ddn/sources/descent1/ I've taken a look at the code several times over the past couple of years; it is indeed a bit of a mess. For that reason, using the D1X-Rebirth code might be a better idea like...

FINALLY!! Do you have any idea how long and hard I've looked for someone who had the coding skills/motivation to work on DScent? :D You have just made my day! I've been on every DS homebrew website I could find, but no one seemed interested in the project. I'm glad to hear that you want to get DScen...

From watching that Youtube video DJXavieRO posted, I'd say just turn up the cruise control to 100% and then go through the mines that way. If you also want to save it as a demo, you can do that too :) .

LOL at CH-3's comic strip.

Yes, I am/was very thorough with my bug-hunting :D . But that's because I wanted D2X-XL to be perfect!!! And now it is! I'm just really glad to have been a part of getting it perfect and bug-free!

With the new UI, I can't set the framerate like I could before... As far as I could tell, checking the 'V-sync' framecap setting did not affect CPU usage.

I haven't been on the forums in a while. First off, I'd like to congratulate Diedel on finally getting D2X-XL to 'bug-free' status  . I am just very glad to have been a part of the bug-killing process :D . I have noticed this new CPU consumption thing myself. I don't use Vista but instead Win7...

Re: D2X-XL v1.14 RC10 Available

Can't tell how much I hope that this is the last RC. :sorry: I'm afraid there's gonna have to be one more RC, Diedel... I found three or four bugs, some small, some of the 'CTD' variety (these are the very last ones on my list), and will be posting them in the bug reports soon. I know about your 'n...

Am I a woman? ... Wow, I've never been asked that before; I guess there is a first time for everything  . In fact, I find your attempt to question my manhood somewhat offensive  , but I will let it go... this time  . I let you know now that I am quite difficult to piss off, ...

I did not mean reiterate, I just wanted to clarify under what OS is this problem occurring.

Does anyone have trouble using the briefing audios? Is this some sort of bug that's needs reporting? 'Cause I can take care of the reporting if it is a bug 8) .

The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few. ;) Aus-RED-5: Am I being left out? Not yet... and with any luck, not ever :D . There are no 'needs' of the many in this case  . (How do you know how many D2X-XL users have IGPs? I hope you're not basing your total simply off of the number o...

I stand corrected, per vertex lighting it is  . But for all intents and purposes, my D2X-XL gaming experience can be nearly as full and rich (with practically all of the visual goodies too :D ) as anyone using a more powerful graphics card. So why should those like me (with IGPs) be left out o...

I just checked again; extra.hog is indeed in my data subfolder. But D1 briefing audios don't play... I checked my d2x.log; one line reads found hog file 'extra.hog' , so D2X-XL sees the file... My extra.hog is a fresh copy that I recently downloaded from the D2X-XL downloads site (to avoid corruptio...

Diedel, D2X-XL runs virtually *perfectly* under my IGP: I can render smoke, coronas, lightnings, shadows, I can use per-pixel lighting, hi-res textures and models load correctly... I'm pretty sure that I'm not the only person that does/will want to run D2X-XL but has only IGP on their computers. I'v...

I won't ever regret donating to D2X-XL, Diedel; you've been keeping my childhood game alive all these years, and I thank you for it. If anything upset me, it was your statement that you would no longer accept any of my bug reports :( . My IGP may indeed be "crapfix", but at least it never ...

Pyro_2009, Your not really 3D graphics hardware doesn't support anything the most basic and cheapest of discrete graphics card of today would. So much just to begin with. Next you are using D2X-XL on Win7, as I found out yesterday when re-reading one of your bug tickets. I don't want to see a singl...
