Re: Development Blah: Comments
Re your comment "I'm fed up with D2x-XL coding...": I think it clear that you're also passionate about D2X-XL and take pride and pleasure in your accomplishments. I think if you take a break from the coding, you'll find the feeling of being "fed up" goes away. All of the members ...

Re: New Debian/Ubuntu d2x-xl binary installation packages.
Update to d2x-xl-base v5:
d2x-xl-base should now automatically remove the unneeded packages d2x-xl-demo, d2x-xl-midi, and d2x-xl-sdl (these have been merged into d2x-xl-base). This should correct d2x-xl-base refusing to install because it contains files provided by the demo, midi, and sdl packages.

Re: New Debian/Ubuntu d2x-xl binary installation packages.
Important: If you have installed any of the following d2x-xl Debian/Ubuntu packages, they must be removed before updating any packages. (Their contents have been merged into d2x-xl-base):
d2x-xl-demo
d2x-xl-midi
d2x-xl-sdl
d2x-xl-demo
d2x-xl-midi
d2x-xl-sdl

Re: New Debian/Ubuntu d2x-xl binary installation packages.
Update to d2x-xl version 1.15.336.
Merged SDL, midi, and demo levels packages into d2x-xl-base. Filesize is now 66.5 MB (who would play this game without music?)
Is there any interest here in RPM installation packages?

Linux users: help me solve graphics resolution problem
I've been having trouble with d2x-xl not restoring my pre-game graphics resolution after I quit the game, and I'd like to know if other Linux users have this problem. karx (via bug report ticket) says it works for him. I think maybe all nvidia cards are affected. I have a nvidia geforce 9400 with th...

Re: d2x.ham - Is Vertigo playable without it?
I'd also be interested in knowing whether or not the d2x.ham is needed. I tried this Vertigo download (no d2x.ham) and it appears to play fine, but there might be something I'm missing.

Re: Development Blah: Comments
d2x-xl Debian/Ubuntu demo packages have been updated to v1.15.313. This is untested on i386, but it should be fine. I compiled the i386 version on my VPS, where I cannot test it since there is no GUI. The other packages are updated to v1.15.313. Let me know if there are any difficulties on any Debia...

Re: Development Blah: Comments
PS
I just checked and find that the demo levels are working with v1.15.312. Great! I'll have to update the demo package, which still has v1.15.177

Re: Development Blah: Comments
Hi Karx, I built the new amd64 and i386 d2x-xl Debian/Ubuntu packages today, the executable updated to 1.15.312 and 1.15.313 and the data file to v295. You can of course host your own copies of these if you want, but it is far easier for Debian/Ubuntu users to add my Debian repository to their repos...

multithreading for Linux?
It's time for me to compile updated versions of my D2X-XL Debian/Ubuntu package. I'll be compiling v1.15.312. I am very glad to see that a preformance-affecting issue was found and fixed in version v1.15.300. I'm anxious to try the new version with my less-than-optimum hardware. I noticed on the ver...
