Just throwing these out, but maybe for realism sake the crack would stay even when your shields recharged, and cracks would only appear when your shields were below 25? Ooh! Maybe static in the monitors and flying sparks when taking damage! Yeah, there you have it - then maybe some smoke and shakin...

As in: you fly and shoot but your head(ingame) can slightly move apart from cockpit. therefore you feel yourself closer to the flight sims.

Recently I've seen the 3D cockpit discussion thread and before that - I've been aware of the track IR. Also i remember the track effect of the game X-wing Alliance and a Quake. May those who never heard of those titles research them on you tube.But the closest one to the idea I'm trying to refer to ...

So in that file the sign -hires sounds 0 or 1 should be already. Just change 1 to 0.
