Microsoft research and development teams are extremely smart, it's a shame the higher-ups are so disconnected from the userbase. I don't think the 32-bit/64-bit paragraph is necessary in the setup section. I would just say make a shortcut to the 32-bit version and put the 64-bit/multithreading info in configuration or something. You probably don't want people to hit terms and concepts they may not understand right off the bat...

Lots of valid points here. I would like to clarify some things though. Rebirth keeps the original gameplay and look of the game. I feel like XL is overmodded stuff. XL is regressive feature creep at its worst. To some, the theme is inconsistent when many of the graphical enhancements are enabled. Ha...

Are the sniper packets sent at the usual rate? Aren't they sent immediately upon firing? When they "come in a package with the complete player position anyway", isn't that when the packet update occurs, not when the shot is fired? If the update rate is 10pps, and someone fires a shot 15ms ...

Run it with the -printlog parameter (has to be an actual parameter, can't put it in d2x.ini) and post the resulting d2x.log

Could be a network device issue. Disable all network devices in the device manager then reboot and see if it still hangs?
