Custom textures in D1

OK, it looks like there is a decision to be made here. Basically, the custom texture editor in DLE has... problems with D1 levels. Currently I'm thinking about whether it should even support them and am kind of split on the issue. As many people know, D1 originally did not support custom textures of...

Re: Anyone up for playing some night GMT-5 from 8PM to 2PM?

Was nice of him to show up actually, kept me busy enough that the game opened up a bit  I'm not sure when/whether I'll be able to play again this week - between finishing up taxes, fixing up some DLE problems that are impeding work for a couple of people, and preparing for a co-op tournamen...

Re: Anyone up for playing some night GMT-5 from 8PM to 2PM?

Oh... okay, I know where that is. I have some other stuff to do later on Friday night but it should leave a little while to try something out after I get back from work.

Alright. Well, I'm not impatient; if it's still a no-go by the weekend there's always the one after.

Re: Anyone up for playing some night GMT-5 from 8PM to 2PM?

Things that might work: Steam group chat - been a while since I've done this but I recall there was such a feature. Possibly Mumble - I know Fox isn't a fan of the voice chat though, but it does support text if you need it. I know of a couple Descent-related servers, one run by the Rangers, the othe...

Re: Descent : Underground

They share a lot of the same opinions as (especially) 1v1ers and (to a lesser extent) general multi-player/single-player people. I don't think they're intentionally trying to say "everyone is like us", but not a lot has been done to avoid such a misconception. I also share many of the same...

Actually, I think I might be available this Sunday... at least, in the evening. Do you have a venue in mind for working through the game setup stuff? Hosting, what level to play, reconvene in case something goes wrong in the game, etc.

Re: Xbox 360 controller issue with drift

I would have to figure it's either something to do with the driver for the controller or possibly the controller hardware itself. There isn't much in common between how D2X-XL and D2 under DOSBox handle gamepad input as far as I know. I haven't personally tried to plug gamepads into a PC so don't ha...

Re: Development Blah: Comments

I probably had better things to do than read through all the code changes, but... anyway.
https://sourceforge.net/p/d2x-xl/code/H ... er.cpp#l37
I am wondering if that code line (37) does anything or was meant to be removed?
(I guess it does advance the file pointer.)

Re: Development Blah: Comments

I see... I hadn't really looked at how the texture alignment preview did its magic but since it's effectively a tiled 2D image with a quadrilateral mask, I shouldn't be so surprised it was that easy to make it animate :) The mine view, though... that would be a lot less easy, because you would proba...

Re: Development Blah: Comments

 That will mean that silly "eh, let's just assume all the frames are 100 ms" hack I used on the animation timer won't be necessary anymore. Having everything fully animated in the mine view would be awesome, actually. Also, thanks for catching those TGA issues, I knew I had to look a...

Yep, that would be why modifying D2X-XL without being very very careful is dangerous :pop:

Re: bug in player death, and other bug in newgamemenu.cpp

Yeah, the right solution is definitely to prevent this function being called multiple times - it doesn't make logical sense for that to happen. But game loops can be complicated things.
