Oh... uh... yeah. It was mainly co-op where that happened.

Re: Development Blah: Comments

Being able to do lightmaps "offline" would especially help for multiplayer, yes - issues occur if you spend 20 minutes trying to join a game!

Re: Destiny is dead - long live ...

Oh, that boss... yeah, I ended up cheesing it by repeatedly plunge-attacking him off the ladder, but you do have to climb it fast to do that, agreed. I'm told it's possible to beat him without resorting to that but it wasn't something I could really do at the stage I was at. I played it on PC so I d...

Re: Destiny is dead - long live ...

Yeah, I ended up playing Dark Souls early last year. The sequel is still on my "to-do" list though. It kind of reminds me of games like Megaman, in its own way - it has those bosses that you more or less need to learn the patterns of before you can defeat them (or you can sort of muddle yo...

Re: Anyone know how to edit the shadowproof bot models?

You can't directly, but I think it might be possible to load a model if you already have the robot loaded. The other alternative is PMView, if that's still out there anymore... descentvalhalla.com went down.

Re: Anyone know how to edit the shadowproof bot models?

I can't think of a way that doesn't require the descent2.com tools. Or... actually I guess there is a way, it's just not going to be much fun. When I was working on converting the Enemy Within models into D2 format, I wrote a tool I used to fix them up after importing them. It has no actual visual d...

Re: Missing Vertigo robots and exit sequence

I'm not sure of the exact cause, but what you are having trouble with is basically just the movies (the robot animations in D2 use embedded movies as well - to this day I still don't know why). If it's confined to Vertigo, maybe they're missing. (Actually, does anyone remember if Vertigo even had ex...

Re: Development Blah: Comments

Maybe a light at the end of the tunnel with the DLE POG work... it is back to compiling again and less buggy than I expected to start with. I still have a really big checklist to work through before it's "done", but it should be easier going now that the infrastructure supports things like...

I was thinking "hanging demolition ball" or "two-stage thermonuclear warhead" but I guess that works too :)

Re: [Win8 and c++ runtime] I can't get D2X-Xl to run.

MSVC runtimes from different versions (VS 08/10/13 etc) should be able to co-exist - they don't use the same filenames. Typically an application will only use one particular version, but there's no guarantee that all the applications on your system will use the same one - so uninstalling the redistr...

Re: TrackIR how to set it up ?

From what I recall we have had a long, long wait for a 3d cockpit so something similar can work (including with Oculus Rift, actually, I think?) without it looking silly.

Maybe one day :)

I think msvcr100 is from VC++ 2010, actually... but the new XL version should fix that anyway.

Re: D2X-XL multithreading issues

I've seen OSes rotate single-threaded processes between multiple cores if they are running constantly. It shouldn't be using significantly more than 1/n of the CPU though (1/6 in this case), even if it does use all cores.
