Yeeah, I've tried that before and it doesn't work without port forwarding. Most of the games I play are on LAN with my brother and a friend so it hasn't been a big deal for me. Descent is the only online gaming community I can stand for more than two minutes anyway.
I might be available in the evening on tuesday or wednesday. I'll definitely be available thursday evening though so that's probably the time to plan for. This is on Central Time btw.
Not sure yet. Depends what my shifts will be like at work and when I'll get the chance to do music. Actually did a track for Xfing's project, I need to get around to asking other musicians in the Descent community to do some.
Just the occasional crackling popping and stuttering, like I said it used to be a lot worse. Basically what you'd expect from buffer underruns. I can definitely live with it the way it is now, don't feel any obligation.

D2X-XL already has audio buffer troubles, I'm not sure adding a bunch more audio computations would be a good idea even if it could be implemented without too much work.
Naah, I mean compared to the settings I computed the lightmaps on with my other profiles. I still have those lightmaps but I don't remember what the settings were that would let me use them after I had to make new profiles from scratch (and now I have to do that again because of something).
Still, trying to figure out what the settings are supposed to be would be a hassle and when I get home I just want to play some nice looking descent with some nice random music track. After everything else, it's still the laser trails that I like best about D2X-XL... everything else is almost as awe...
Noice. I've actually been using the real-time lighting for a while now since my new job (as of january :P) takes a lot of patience and I have less left for at home. Plus since I use multiple profiles (more save games that way), I'm always scared one of them will have the lightmap settings slightly o...
