I prefer the Vulcan over Gauss in certain situations, and definitely the spreadfire over the helix in multiplayer games. Helix uses far more energy and can deal potentially less damage at longer ranges, depending on how you use it. Spreadfire is at the top of my auto-select list.

Ah. I couldn't find any from searching. I guess I used the wrong keywords. Would it be possible to at least leave it disabled by default? Most people running XL for the first time are people who are used to Descent, and how the weapon switching works, so the smart weapon switch usually just confuses...

I tried using Smart Weapon Switch a few times. I never understood it and it really frustrated me. Could it at least be turned off by default? I think most people starting up XL are used to normal Descent. Every single person I have EVER helped install and play XL, I have always told to disable Smart...

Summer job

So, starting near the end of May, I will be out of town working for the summer. I will not have access to a computer; just my phone, so I won't be around for a few months. I will be back in August.

I really hate to post again, but I have the exact same problem still. Updated libraries, most recent source code as of the time I posted this, and I get the exact same error.

Help would be appreciated.

Extra lives are just a normal powerup. Aside from the energy powerup, no other powerups were effected by that bug (actually, I believe it was the combined effect of multiple bugs). The only powerups effected were objective-related powerups, like keys, flags, and hoard pickups.

Not many people come to XL looking for the "retro look" in Descent. XL adding and improving on the original Descent, but not changing it. That said, as Diedel explained, not many people have tested what you're trying to do. You can get close to the old look, but it doesn't even use the sam...

If you read his dev blog it will explain why. He's been working hard at fixing a lot of stuff. The multiplayer bugs that have sprouted up are not simple fixes, like most of the bugs he finds. He's working hard to try and solve the problem, and it will take a lot of revisions.

Man, I hate getting assigned single player bugs, especially custom missions. :P Oh well, that's just me complaining. Kak, if you send me the custom mission, savegame, profile, and ini (yeah, that's a lot of stuff) I can attempt to reproduce it.
