I'm sorry, I've been very busy the past couple days. I would have responded faster. If you have Steam or Mumble, I hang out in the Steam group chat room and the Rebirth/Descent Task Force Mumble and I'm always looking for a game, as long as I'm not away from the computer ;)

DTX2 runs fine on WIndows 7 32bit. 32BIT! That's what's important... Get 32bit machine. Or make one (virtual) like aforementioned. That sounds like an overly complicated solution for just browsing the contents of a .PIG file. Can no programmer nowadays create a simple program that runs in an x86 environment that can read the contents of a .PIG file? Oh well. I'll look into it. Thanks!

Is there any other way to open a PIG file other than DTX2? It was hard enough finding where to download it, and Windows won't let me start it up. Says it's incompatible with my version of Windows.

Updated my original thread with a download link. I completed all ship textures, even threw in a 9th texture to make up for the missing texture for player 8.

Man, I could only understand half of that. I'll dig around in the PIG file and see what I can find. I get the feeling it's something more than I can handle, especially because I've never done any texturing before, but I'm really interested in it.

I'm very tempted to create hires versions of them using all 16 colors for each ship, but that means I would also have to create shield textures for every level of shield, around each ship... I ran into a complication though. There are only 8 textures provided with each of MetalBeast's ships, and the first one is white (color0), which is used in single player. Why not just play around with it until you see a problem? That's what I would do.

Go to advanced search
