With the introduction of 16 players, players 9-16 cycle back through the original 8 texture files. I modified the textures a bit for the next 8 players, choosing colors that didn't look similar to the first 8 as much as I could. I don't think so. I haven't used shadows recently, but I turned them off a long time ago because they didn't look pretty, imo. I think they, by nature, are like that.

I recently discovered a setting in the NVIDIA control panel that is left on by default, and will cause reduced performance in D2X-XL. If you have an NVIDIA card, I recommend checking this thread out: http://descent2.de/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=2590 It may help you further increase your performa...

Original D2 MIDI locations

Can someone tell me where I can find the original D2 MIDIs? I'm on Windows 7 so I couldn't install the game, but I have the original disc here. A preliminary search couldn't find anything. Thanks!

He's doing reduxes of the redbook songs though. Not only do I like your style better than Dan Wentz, but I grew up with the MIDI songs, not redbook, so I've been looking desperately for reduxes of the midi songs!

The "Complete mission pack" is a compilation of every mission Diedel hosts on his website, organized by author. Because of that, if I find a good mission, I know which author to compliment, and I love pretty much every one of yours! If you have missions to add to it, that would be awesome....

Yes, if you make a shortcut, you can pass any .ini command to it that you wish to be different than d2x.ini. So if your .ini file says -hires_textures 0 then you can make a shortcut to d2x-xl and have it say -hires_textures in the target field, and it will force it on.

I'm afraid not. If you disable hires textures via that switch, no hires textures will work at all. What you can do is have a shortcut to D2X-XL, and if you right click that shortcut and go to "Properties" and add -pured2 to the end of the target statement, that shortcut will boot up D2X-XL...

Personally, I think this is really awesome. I'm a big fan of Neptune, and this new look is really, really cool. Would this be able to get added to the complete map pack?

I was hoping I could use the PPC Mac to at least set it up ant figure out how to work the software, and compile it, so that when I have access to my dad's Mac Book I can be prepared to set it up and compile it on there. Macs are mostly foreign to me though. Last Mac I used was OS 7.
