Re: Daniel Wentz is the man!

Well, yeah, but that requires acquiring his music somehow =P

It was really hard to keep from letting out a slight chuckle from across the lab =P

Re: Daniel Wentz is the man!

I LOVE his redux of the Freespace title! Oh man, if I could make this the title screen song for D2X-XL, I would be one happy pilot.

Re: Development Blah: Comments

I was working in the CS labs at the top engineering school in this country (Rose-Hulman) a few months ago, and overheard one of the students teaching his professor what command prompt was, and how to use it. Mind you this was a software engineering professor, who uses nothing but Windows, and he was...

Re: NVIDIA Performance Optimization

Yeah, I forced frame cap off. My FPS doesn't go over 170, but what matters is that it never DROPS below 150. That's what's important! Previously I was getting up to 70 FPS and it would drop below 30 FPS when I got into combat. The best part about this is that the game used to max out all of my proce...

Re: Playing in Steam group chat room

I didn't want to make a new thread about the same thing, but I know double posting is discouraged. I just wanted to let people know that, as of 15 minutes ago, this offer is now open again, and I am now DESPERATE for people to play Multiplayer with! Come join the chat room and play some games! I rea...

NVIDIA Performance Optimization

I have spent the past 3 days screwing around with D2X-XL trying to figure out why my performance has been so sketchy. Sometimes it's around 120 FPS, sometimes it's around 20 FPS... And regardless, it's always below 30FPS in combat. I get the exact same performance when I max out everything and use t...

Re: New VC10 Solution looks for wrong library projects

I never had to download the libraries more than once per 6 months, so it never came to mind until now ;P

Debug version won't grab mouse

I can compile the game code just fine and run it without any problems. In fact, it runs quite well! Problem is, if I compile the game and run it... It doesn't grab the mouse. If I turn my ship too much, my mouse just floats off into the other monitor. I have it set so the debug version is using the ...

Re: What does it take to compile a Mac version of D2X-XL?

Thanks. Also, this requires an Intel-based Mac, correct? We have an old mac (OS X 10.5) that uses the old architecture. I doubt it can be, but if that could be used to compile it, it would make things much easier.

Re: New VC10 Solution looks for wrong library projects

Fantastic, thanks. With so many libraries now, I'm beginning to think throwing them all into one zipped file would be pretty convenient, so people would be able to just download one file, instead of all 9 :P

New VC10 Solution looks for wrong library projects

I don't know if this is an oversight, or I did something wrong. The new VC10 Solution that you put in the repository looks for projects under \Projects\Libraries\[library]\VC10, and that folder doesn't exist. The project files are instead in VisualC, even after I convert them. Do I have to re-downlo...

Re: Compiling Mac app from source for teh noob

I am no professional, but I have about as much knowledge and experience as Red_5 in this area, and I am going to try my hand at this as well to see if I can get it working. Hopefully I have a bit more luck than Red_5 did. He seemed to have run into every possible problem =/

What does it take to compile a Mac version of D2X-XL?

Title says most of it. I have access to powerful Macs at the local college that my dad works at, and I help in the CS labs often, so not only do I have access to the Macs there, but my dad also has one that he uses for personal use that I could borrow. What software is needed to compile D2X-XL on a ...
