AND BLOOM AND CUBEMAPS AND SOFT SHADOWS AND MOTION BLUR!!!!!! (actually, I think the soft shadows with fading effects would be PERFECT for D2X-XL, because as they are, the shadows are still ugly and annoying and shadow fading has been around since Pixel Shader 1.0 , and Fading with Soft Shadows was ...

I prefer Hypercam. Sure, it doesn't let you record fullscreen (I don't think), but IMO it runs better than fraps, especially if you can get ahold of a good codec. For me, its th X-fire video codec (introduced when they implemented video recording into their program). I have no lag ingame and the vid...

I'm willing to guess that the 20 exits were used in order to make an intricately crafted exit tunnel/door/whatever...
I didn't know emergency exits were supposed to be beautiful, but ok. =]

SF.net is considered a gaming site? If your networking issue is a permanent one please explain here what exactly is wrong and how it should be. Try to be as precise as possible and post screenshots if they are helpful (max. 800x600 please). Apart from the different layout and any additions,...

DMB2 is not written in Visual Basic, but in Borland C. Still way slower than today's 32 bit C compiler output. Enzo, I simply hadn't noticed. Why don't you just use the wonderful new DLE-XP bug tracker on SF.net and file a bug report about it? I didn't know it was a bug :< I will but I can't ATM; t...

If I come across anyone important, especially Matt Toschlog, I'll be sure to bring my Definitive collection CDs, CD case, box (I STILL HAVE THE BOX!!! :D), and manual, and my descent 3 dual jewel case and CDs (no manual :< :< :<), and my PSX copy of Descent 1, its case and its manual!! :yikes:

I went to the thread you posted line counts in and asked why he deleted it. I got this: :-\ What'd you do with Diedel's post? He knows it and why - and that has to be enough. :) ??? But then: ... Wait a tick ... no, I think he does not. iirc the original code did not include audio (third party, HMI)...

I'm not sure if it is like this with the mouse, as when I rotated my levels using DMB2, I almost always used the arrow keys. When I tried using DLE-XP ajter (gah! who the hell switched my f and j keys? >:O ---I'm serious, someone did)... after using DMB2 all this time, when I tried rotating in DLE-X...

Sprite based hostages are always facing you, that's how it's coded into the program. 3D hostages face whatever direction the level author made them face when putting them in the level, and whereever the model author made them face (usually that's not the problem though). So it's a question of where...

Actually, it's not a bad idea, but AFAIK, chase mode (ctrl+f12) is an optional (not official and with low priority) addition to D2X-XL not meant to proper playing, but only for a bit of eye-candy (much like 'bittersweet' cheat code), so i'm pretty sure there won't be any addition or modification to...

Cube, Cube 2/Sauerbraten, AssaultCube, all ... oh you want Single player games... Those do have good level editors, though, and are free, but they're multiplayer based. Uhh... uhh... Lego Creator? It's old, though... ...still, I've had lots of fun with it. Online equivalents are Roblox and ... this ...

I would try this if it weren't for the bad axes on the thumbsticks. Other than that, I would probably end up using the Start and Back buttons for other things, and I HATE HATE HATE!!!!! the inventory system in D2X-XL, so I turn it off! Until I decide try this, I'll just keep playing the PSX version ...
