Problems with transparent custom textures

I was trying to make a custom texture for someone which was simply a texture with their name on it. It was to be like any other transparent/secondary texture, such as grates or ladders, and able to be placed on any primary texture as a secondary. It is a 64x64 texture, just like the textures which c...

Re: Favorite (composed for mission) Descent custom music tra

I haven't really found very many custom music tracks in Descent 1 and 2 missions that I actually cared for. A lot of these custom tracks sound... I dunno, empty? :clue: I don't get this feeling when I listen to stuff from the original D1 and D2 soundtracks. An example of one that I do get this feeli...

Re: Descent Blog (Authors - Kak and Pumo)

Probably best not to even begin to mention anything like that here, or bad things can happen.

Re: D1 Lighting Errors.

Ah I'm not really mad, as in angry mad, as in the truest sense of the word... been misusing it lately. I post in the forum in case whatever problem I'm having gets closed as a "works for me" kind of thing, something I'm often afraid of because if I get something like that I'm afraid I migh...

D1 Lighting Errors.

Copied from a ticket I'm about to post: Several light textures, such as those from ceil002 - light to ceil030 - light will occasionally not provide any light at all, while textures such as lava and empty - light will at the same time will provide only about 75% of the light they are supposed to (see...

Re: Development Blah: Comments

At this time, including the original post in the thread, there are 666 posts in the development blah.

One more post and it'll be 666 replies.

I'm gonna have to grab the new DLE. I hate texture alignment, but this will make me hate it a lot less.

That's not saying much. :D

Re: Creating balls

It would help to be able to have the map file so that I could see exactly what is going on.

In DLE, you add a player by going to the insert menu and under "object" you choose "player", iirc.

Re: Mission reviews thread (?, a proposal)

I second the blog idea.

You could simply use blogspot or something like that.

Completely free.

Re: 20,000!

It makes sense that lightmaps would increase performance simply because of how they work as opposed to something such, say, as unified lighting. Question: Is it possible to have precomputed lightmaps from one computer used on another computer so that the second computer would not have to go through ...

Re: 20,000!

The small devil on one of my shoulders tells me to say "So continues the pissing contest." The small angel on my other shoulder tells me not to do it. Wat do? ======= I have a feeling that if Obi's computer has trouble running it well, then if I tried running this even though I have all th...

Re: Classic singleplayer missions not worth 80%+ overall sco

I think it gains popularity because it is, in a way, a rarity. Like that rare first edition collectable that very few people have.

Or the Dewey Defeats Truman newspaper.

Re: Best of the big ones (15+ level mods) - top three

I have masochistic tendencies so first chance I get I'm grabbing the first one and playing it. Won't be able to do so till after the weekend but then I should have plenty of time on my hands.

edit: wow I seem to have been saying that a lot lately.

Re: Best of the big ones (15+ level mods) - top three

Voted the bottom three because I could. My real vote is really just the last option. I'm not really one who likes all this talk about "WHICH ONE IS THE BEST". Actually, it kinda angers me a little to tell the truth, but it's all for fun and such, right? Even if I don't like this much I'm i...
