Re: Looking for a lost map. One of my maps.

Oh, when you said that I thought you meant me or something... because... I too had lost them while being able to get 3, though I only got 3 by getting it from someone else and it just *happened* to be older than the one I had (basically the one on this site), and since I've slept since it was put th...

[FOUND!]Looking for a lost map. One of my maps.

This is a map I have sent around a bit on Kali when it was new, around the 2005-2006 years. Specifically, it would be Nocturne. The first one. You can find the third one on Diedel's site and it's cool and all, but I had distributed Nocturne to several people, and even had it played a bit for one of ...

Re: Daniel Wentz is the man!

Ah yeah. I was going to post it here but I never got around to it. He told me I was free to spread the word through PM over there.

I did post it at planetdescent.net and descentbb.net though.

It's great stuff!

He said he was playing Descent 1 missions. I do not know if there's a "reloaded" or "XL" version of the entire D1 campaign, and I don't think there is.

Also DialgiX, WipEout is awesome.

This reminds me of before I discovered the "General MIDI" option in sound setup for vanilla Descent 1 and 2 when I played only on an older (Win98SE) computer. The downside is that the music would play about half speed and, depending on the music settings, would actually slow the game down....

I was told that buying Portal, standalone, wouldn't give you the SDK as well.

You beat me to it. Also posted on PD.net and DBB.net

But Sykes, I was under the impression that Portal, on its own, would not make the Source SDK usable.

My parents forced me to install McAfee on my computer (on pain of being beaten with a metal pole... well not really but...). It is total crap, too. It doesn't go about completely eviscerating your OS, but: 1) It doesn't protect the computer worth jack crap 2) Anything that it DOES remove, you can't ...

NationStates - a free nation simulation game

NationStates is a free nation simulation game. Build a nation and run it according to your own warped political ideals. Create a Utopian paradise for society's less fortunate or a totalitarian corporate police state. Care for your people or deliberately oppress them. Join the World Assembly or rema...

The same here... I like a lot of music genres, and although my favorite ones are Electronic, Dance, New Age & Baroque i also enjoy some metal. I like specially Metallica and Korn ;) KoRn isn't metal (or so they keep saying :P) I have been a metalhead for quite some time, but mostly older metal ...

I never could. It would appear to turn off, but every time I exited the menu, then returned to it, the target indicator would be set back to "missile", and would show for all robots, including cloaked. :-\ I'll have to check again though since I haven't had the latest update (probably woul...

- Lightning I agree that lightning effects do not look perfect in D2X-XL. I only use them for the static discharge effect on robots and for the Omega cannon where I think it actually looks quite good. I have seen a cool lightning effect in Quake 4 and some acceptable ones in Half Life, but that's a...

Pumo mines is some of the best stuff ever built for Descent 2. At this point, canon is whatever you want it to be. It's not like Interplay is ever going to continue the story. That's like saying that Deus Ex Machina or Just Another Day is FreeSpace 2 canon because they are so great and Volition no ...
