New Installation tested

I tested myself a new installation of Descent under Windows Xp sp3. What I have to do that it works: 1) installing Descent 2 v1.2 from the CD ( crazy install needed!!! ), create pilot irontowr, start the W95 version to see it is working on x64 systems get Winrar or 7-zip and you can extract the file...

I didn't think on my external drive where I have a backup image from my 3Dfx-pc.

I didn't have it anymore, I have replaced it with the newer one. Sorry.
But I can take a look on my 3Dfx-machine next week if it stays in an older version.

Hi, here is update 4.04. It contain only the new textures. Extract it to your texture folder and overwrite the old ones from the complete 4.03 release. Habe heute alles mögliche ausprobiert und getestet, aber mit der 1.14.84 bringe ich keine 512x512 zusammen. WinXp 32bit, 1,6Gb free ram - 1.13.80 und 1.14.84 skalieren runter WinXp 64bit, 3,4Gb free ram - 1.13.80 nimmt 512, 1.14.84 skaliert runter Win 7 x64, 3,1 Gb free ram - gleich wie Xp x64 Naja,...

Im Grafiktreiber AF auf 8 oder 16fach einstellen, dann brauchst du dir keine Dellen mit der Nase in den Monitor drücken
üm den Unterschied auch aus der Entfernung zu sehen

Das verstehe ich, aber schade ist es trotzdem. Wäre es möglich das beim Start zu prüfen und erst dann zu sperren?
Naja, hab da keine Ahnung davon, ist vermutlich nicht so einfach. Ist auch nicht so wichtig :)

Mit den neuen Versionen geht es nicht, aber mit der 1.13.80 klappt es wunderbar, sieht man sofort. Was ist eigentlich der Grund warum du 512x512 jetzt nicht mehr zulässt?
