Re: Recent CPU optimization?

development blah is updated more frequently and contains more information and interesting little tweaks. It also contains all his rants about Microsoft's poor coding for C#, plus the strange bugs he's found in D2X-XL's code, and details of minor improvements he's made which aren't simply bug fixes. ...

I suppose at the end of all this you'll be able to write a big long rant to Microsoft listing all the bugs you found! :lolol:

Just out of sheer curiosity, does the reactor still melt down when the count down timer isn't activated, or does it just sit there perpetually shaking the mine?

Re: how do you guys play d2x-xl singleplayer?

I regard the thief as a pointless pain in the bum. Killing it uses time and ammo that would be better spent clearing out the rest of the mine. That said, I haven't played without it yet, so I can't complain too much!

AAAAATSHOOOO! Sound quality is bad - sounds like a scratchy vinyl. The guy seems to be playing this by heart! haha! I hadn't noticed the static fuzz until now, but you're right, it sounds just like an old vinyl. I think the sound is very good, actually. I can hear everything wit...

I don't know if any of you have heard of Bottesini before. He was a 19th Century composer and performer, known as the Paganini of the double bass, and his best known work is the Gran Duo Concertante, originally written for two basses and then arranged in its more popular form for violin and bass. He...

Re: Development Blah: Comments

How does leaving certain code in C++ help me in understanding that in C# I have to build such work arounds, and how to do it? Do you think that in the industry you will always be able or allowed to use unmanaged code (i.e. C++) in a managed code (e.g. C#) project? You could have figured that yourse...

Re: Development Blah: Comments

How would that help me in learning C#? You mentioned that you were having to create long, tedious, and inefficient workarounds, which you didn't enjoy coding, in order to port certain parts of DLE-XP into C#. I offered a short and simple solution. I understand the interest in learning the finer poi...

Re: Development Blah: Comments

Forgive my naive question, but would it be easier or even possible to leave the more complicated bits of DLE-XP's code in C++? I'm not a programmer, but I've read that some professional software has parts of its code in various languages depending on which is the best fit for that section of code's ...
