Found that I had a corruption somewhere which was preventing any sound in the std d2x-xl version.

I now have sound in all versions except for the ship sound, gatling sound and gatling spinup sound.

Otherwise all seems to be good :D

.34 I seem to have lost in the last few versions ship sounds and gatling sounds but I do have missile sounds. As these have their own switches, could they have been not redirected with the changing of sound file locations? I still don't have sound in default d2x-xl but I will try a complete re-insta...

I VERY CAREFULLY read all that you write. Just letting you know what happens. So, deleted d2, sounds and sounds2 folders from main. Commenting as I do it. Unpack hires-sounds.7z using 7zip 9.2 - sounds folder created and populated folders auto created: .\sounds\d1 (113 files) .\sounds\d1\d2* .\sound...

.33 builds a sounds2 folder with a d2x-xl folder with wav files and afbr_1.wav Is this correct or should they be in the sounds folder? 1.17.32 Sound Issue: Have deleted the sound folders and re-downloaded and unpacked the hi-res sound files. I have re-installed 1.17.32 but still have the sound playing too fast issue. It doesn't clip like when the hi-res sounds can't be found, it just sounds sped up. of course if when I install 1.17...

Same here. Memory bar went from 2.6GB before loading game to 3GB in game.

I did not get far with building executables in my last try. My knowledge is not enough to do it without a lot of hand holding so I gave up. The last 3 versions I have tried have been from your main site(22 23 24). I will grab 26 tonight and give it a go.

I am pleased to be able to say that I have levels loading in 1.17.23 x64 running with hi-res textures and models switched on. My 3.4Ghz i7 runs with all 8 cpu graphs running at 100% and 6.5gb of memory in use but I played! With anaglyph 3d glasses as well. Its good to be back. :D Thanks to your comp...

I played retrovirus most of the way through until it got to a boss level that was just (for me anyway) impossible. I don't know how the developers got through that level. 2 things: how do I start a single threaded program? I have just discovered by accident that the current version 1.17.12 will load an existing savegame but will not start a new one = out of memory error. I will load up the savegame on SF I remember seeing comments about guns not firing at the reticle...
