Unfortunately the new Oculus Rift switch makes no difference to the current errors. :cry: :cry: :cry:

I added

;enable Oculus Rift support
-oculus_rift 0

to my ini file.

I have also found that disabling hires in the ini file allows the game to run, otherwise I get the out of memory error.

1.17.2 works fine still and I have changed nothing. This is an ongoing error since 1.17.3

I would get the hires sound files (make sure you check the inin file is set right) the music is a personal choice. Normally I don't play with it on but thats up to you.

Yes, you definitely should :D They are not included in the basic install so that updates are not a large download every time. You will need the latest version of 7zip to unpack them. Unpack them into your default d2x-xl install folder. They should end up like this eg C:\Descent2\textures. If you als...

F3 in game will cycle through the cockpit options, it just defaults to no cockpit on first start. It will remember your choice from hereon in.

F1 will display all those key commands
