New alternative Pyro-Model

Postby MetalBeast » Wed Oct 24, 2007 8:50 pm

Hi friends,

I'm already working on new alternative Pyro Model.
It should look something between the original D2-pyro and the D3-pyro model.

It's very early work in progress ;)

Kudos to you for your efforts (Deine Arbeit in allen Ehren) :), but If I am honest I have to say that I don't like it too much. I don't like these rounded shapes everybody seems to be so fond of these days. I like it edgy and looking somewhat more like the weapon it is. The D3 tank is a nice model.

Nice work Zombie, but I have to agree with Diedel.

Slim line and rounded pyro's don't do it for me.

Sorry.

Yes... Your efforts Zombie of course dont; go unoticed.... (YOUR WEAPNS MODELS ROCK!) But for D2X-XL Lets have a really BRUTAL looking PYRO. What i would love to see is a PYRO which has scorch marks on it, and one which shows some real wear and tear.... I mean the original PYRO has serverd us so wel for over ten years now... surely it is starting to feeel some strain.........?

Nevermind, but I like it :)
D2X-XL is IMHO still the best game ever, alongside KICK OFF 2, BoulderDash/EmeraldMine and a serious Doppel-Kopf.
Playing bass in a good band happens to be the next best thing, that is, besides my wonderful wife of course -;)

But anyway, to all friends of square-edged mostership-models:

How about this one?:

@ Diedel: how about choosable playership models in d2x-xl?

Maybe an option, where you can also chosse "random-playership at level start" ? ;)

Wäre machbar.

Ööööhm ... hüstel ... mehr Rumpf, weniger Flügel. Denk mal an die F117, diesen klotzigen Stealth Fighter (der kleinere, nicht die Riesen B2).

One thing I would point out is that from a single player perspective, I feel the Pyro should look as close to what we see in the cinema's as possible. I'm all for the more battered look, or some artistic re-interpretation, especially seeing the age of the cg. However, seeing as everything else your modeling is to give D2 a retro feel it seems odd to break away for this model.

However, I do like the model on its own right, and as an alternative I don't think its a bad idea. Especially if you could possibly include both versions in the D2XL install and have a switch added in the options menu as to which you use (or make it so people making levels can program which you use).

Keep up the good work man, you haven't let us down yet!

The model of descent Pyro - original but improved - were done allready.

Allthough the tread is not quite about it - i wish that i can show you guys - the job done....dunno how to post it here.

And the only thing necessary for It's completion is - understanding of how the hell edit them and texturing them. Not to mention to place them in a game.

@Joffa,

sorry but I don't understand you.
You have made an Pyro model and don't know how to get it ingame?
Or? what are you talking about?

What do you want to post here, but don't know how?
If you mean ,how to post screenshots, just use any free-picture hosting, like I do.
