this is the most recent one i made.(no i did not think of pumos ship when making this lol)

ill post more when i get the chance.

EDIT btw i suck at uv mapping , so im not going to bother with that. :?

EDIT 2

here is another one(more descenty)
Image
its name is minola.(a mine laying robot thing)

this is PYRO-m2(kind of like the cargo ship in d3)

Nice! I like the Pyro-M2. The first one is a little too roundish for my taste ;)

Well, if you can get away with a cel-shaded style effect, then I guess you might as well. I think back in the old days D2 didn't light those faces properly but it's probably much better in XL, especially with Lambertian reflectance (or at least something that achieves similar results) these days.

Ever considered making hi-res models of the Descent robots blarget?

You could probably use Irontowers robot textures for them too

Just throwing that out there.

New robots as replacements for standard ones would be awesome.

Hi Blarget#,

of course, new bots would be welcome. But first we would like to see the original bots with new textures in the stlye from Irontower.
Currently, the existing textures are used simultaneously for multiple bots, either completely or partly, or even flipped etc. We urgently need someone who will give some structure to this mess. Each bot should have his own set of textures. If this is done, Irontower would have the opportunity to make new textures for the bots with unprecedented details! This would be the right first-step, imo.

To all who have already designed their own bots:
Please help Irontower. I sincerely hope, that we will find someone, who will make a new arrangement for the use of textures for the bots so that each robot has its own Texturenset (4-5 textures).

Negative, Frusti. I'd rather see blarget build new robots - in ASE format that is, that's a must.

ASE? explain more please? i'm not good with the shortening-of-statements. they confuse me. i finally found out what IMO stands for(still trying to understand IRCC(not irc)).

Ascii Scene Export files. Its the file type that 3DS Max saves models in.

Currently Irontowers robot textures just go over the top of the existing textures so the texture handling system will still be an unstructured mess. (Who's idea was it to have all robots use sub-sections of the same texture palette? The proper way is to give each robot their own.)

It would be better to make hi-res robots that have a skin texture just like the hi-res power ups do. Again, Irontowers textures could be used here.
