I think it is meant to be the Superhulk. Sort of resembles the Ice boss though.

The body looks cool: bulky, grungy and armored with a sinister expression

But the arms look like sticks again :/

A good guideline for robot badassery: "make it look approximately 5 degree's tougher than its actual strenth/firepower ratio"

the level looks great and plays well, but a stupid question, where the heck do i go. I rescued the hostages and got into the room with the energy regenerator but then as far as i can see the other 3 tunnels are blocked and I can't find anything to disable the force fields.

Looks pretty sick. I'm sure it will look great in game to. I have to ask, how did you learn to 3-d model.

It looks sort of like the Homunculus boss from D3.
My favourite Descent boss of all time (except for maybe the Fire Boss).
We live in a universe... It's distracting

Don't get me wrong, I think what you're doing is great and all, but.....

The more and more I look at that robot. The body reminds me of a Secondary Lifter and not a Heavy.

....and I'm not too keen on the arms either... sorry.

Your Class 1 & 2 Drones look the part.

The Heavy, does not.

Makes me wish I knew how to work a modeling program. I'd do a few robots. :(

I have to agree. It's a great modeling job, and the body looks like it should but the thin arms don't look like a hulk. Maybe if you gave it earthshaker missles though... Jk.

A Tip:

When you design a robot - think about it's purpose and prehistory.
after all -they're to be miners which once have turned their mining equipment and or transformed or modified by themselves miner equipment. So imagine
that the "arms" of the robot must be thick enough to hold the mining vessel in place whilest its under the influence of the forse which vector is opposite to the vector of the mining weapon shots. Unless its a beam laser.

The purpose was to make it NOT look like a hulk at all. It actually resembles bosses more then anything at all, i know that. I wanted it too look like a worn down robot that mines with lasers, thats it. And the robot that it replaces happens to be the med hulk (the green lazer shooter). it was not intended to look like any of the bots because it was suppose to be unique, but it ended up looking like a boss and im sorry for that. i wanted to make something different. i Will (however) be making the heavy hulk close to the original model. (working on that now, and using the same model from a post a month or 2 ago)

i hope that clears things up....

EDIT: this is the model for the heavy i was talking about but i will change it drastically because it looks too humanoid.

EDIT2: using the low poly version (the less humany one) i have made this one which is medium poly. no texture plan yet.

is this what you guys were looking for?

Please don't make robots that look like boxy upper parts of human bodies.

shmeh. thats me :lolol: well i want to stay with the original design on the heavy, so it will be a humanoid no matter what i do. the other robots i can have more fun with since they are unique. :P

honestly though, i like humanoid robots like med hulks heavy hulks and and the bosses thats just how i am. but when i get to the other bots, ima have some brain storming fun!
(if you can come up with a replacement idea for the heavy, med, and light hulk, that doesn't evolve humanoid shapes, let me know. it would be greatly appreciated :D)

Now that looks more like a hulk. You do have the point that it looks human like but original hulks look like that to.
