descent 2 robot re-models

Some more ideas:
I want to mention that I would like to see some asymmetric bots which don´t have a full closed chassis.
Imagine a bot which carries on one side a smaller "energy cell" with cables to the basic body and on the other side its bigger weaponary (or vice versa). For me it is very important, that the bots look like maschines, built for effiency and at low costs. Of course, they must look used.... but that is a matter of textures.

Intel Q9550 (E0) @ 3420 MHz and standard voltage with Sonic Tower Rev.2, Geforce GTX 260 (896 MB), Asus P5Q Deluxe, 6 GB GSkill DDR2-1066, 2x500 GB Seagate @ Raid 0, Soundblaster XFi, Sharkoon Rebel12 Case, Teufel Concept Magnum 5:1, Samsung 2494 SW , Genius Navigator 535, Logitech Wingman FF, Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit
That is a good idea, but it really changes the way the robots were from the original, which were symmetric. I'd like to keep the basic symmetry of the original robots, just give them more of a robotic look. Most of the robots did look like animals though and don't seem like they would be efficient at their job.

Yeah, forgot about the sidearm, it was probably overall easier for them to make symmetric models back then. I'm working on adding detail to my models, maybe making a few asymmetric bots would be good.
Edit:
Made a concussion missile model for a chamber I'm going to design for the ITSC. i figure the robots should have a quick load chamber system for their weapons. i probably made it a bit too high detail.
finished the concussion case. working on adding it into the ITSC. (the bottom missile is supposedly chambered.)
and finally got it into the ITSC. (I'm trying to get more feedback than this.)

Please use MB's missile models.

I will if you can tell me how to convert the ase to a format I can use in 3ds max. I wasn't trying for a huge amount of detail because you don't really see them that well. And I was going to bring up to you if it's possible to make it that the Itsc can only shoot 3 missles than it runs out of ammo. If it would be possible to do that it would make it more realistic and I could try to do a animation for the case.

Can't 3ds max read ASE?

It can export .ase but it can't import it. And searching on google there isn't an extension that lets it. That's why I made my own in the first place, otherwise I would have used his.

I'll try blender than, thanks.
edit:
the only .ase importer for blender doesn't yet work with the new version of blender. so i can't use blender unfortunately.
Edit 2:
modeled the bullet for the Vulcan mini-gun (whatever it is) clip for the ITSC and the IT. I assumed it used a 50. cal round from the way it looks in the ammo cartridges in game. I did reduce the poly count to 1302.
I also have to ask you diedel, is there a poly limit for robots?

Have a look at this multi converter
http://web.axelero.hu/karpo/
it says it reads and writes both formats ase <=> 3ds

well i don't have a completely insane amount, at the moment its around 70000 polys, I'm not sure if that's to much or not. I don't know how smooth d2x-xl handles a lot of polys. if it is there is detail i can get rid of. and thanks weyrman for pointing me towards the converter. it can save as a 3ds so its great, but i still haven't seen another program that can save as a .max, lol.
Edit:
you need to buy it for $50 to save as a .3ds. At this point it doesn't look like I'll be able to use mb's model, sorry.

when you create a model - especially for the video game - the lowest possible amount to represent the details of object - Is the best one. 70000 - is way too much. for instance i saw the Joffa's Pyro - which got 800 or so faces - on the Pumo forums. He got INSANELY detailed ship in comparison with your missile. yet he uses much lesser amount of faces for it.
