Hi JoFFa,

its not the color only what makes the difference.
If the ship is mostly gray and color is used sparingly to emphasize details only the Avenger can be the most beautiful and best vessel for D2.
The color scheme is impressive, because here you use red lines to accentuate the shape of the Avenger (especially at the front). This looks great and isnĀ“t that overloaded, like the orange model was.

hmmm... riddle over riddle...

the colors are different yet the lines are the same..details are the same....

if its just the colors what you did not like in the first place - then its easy to change...

BTW, guys, you can give me your custom color variations...

There is too much color. You say you are striving for realism, yet your ship looks like a clown did a bulldozer paint job on it.

LOL. You mean when it was grey and yello - or now aswell?

Now too. There's too much color. It's a fighter, not a pimped up "low and slow" street cruiser.

Btw, there is no way the ship will fire the proper gun shots through each of the gun ports you have added to the ship because D2X-XL doesn't support different muzzle points for each gun.

The GX was a fighter, probably provided by PTMC for the MD to use on his missions. I wouldn't be surprised if he decided to ditch it for something more flashy. That's what i believe custom ships are for. Any car will get you to work in the morning, but you would still rather take a Ferrari than a Volvo (if you had the choice).

Good point, pokeman, veeeeery good point.

That's why we see pimped up fighter planes, ships, tanks and uniforms all over the world. Those dang stupid, butt ugly camo schemes really have nothing to them.

Thank God for cultural advance.

Kids. :wallbash:

Well...Planes actually beautiful. OFC they have fewer marks on them. But they aren't the shape of a wiener with bullocks thats for shure... And i doubt that anyone seen space fighters these days. :)

I told you guys - this ship - will have a pimped skin... also A skin - grey+ fewer marks on it. and a possibility to change skins you will have in the future.

Dont fight...

I am fed up with this mindless talk. People have been extrapolating space vessel shapes and paint jobs for decades now, and the only ships that look like a rainbow colored balloon are those made by teenagers (or teenage minded people) trying to be cool.

I am also not quite sure what you are referring to as "Wiener with bullocks". I gave you the CGI Star Wars ships as reference, and you seem to ignore that, and that is something I dislike. When I say something I have put some thought in it and I am rather allergic against people not putting equally much thought into their responses but being snappy or even pert instead.

Fighter planes are gray (and have been gray for decades). Fighter planes do not even have a green/brown camo painting on their top for decades now (as they used to have until WW2).

Of course nobody hinders you to install any ship and use any texturing for it you like in D2X-XL, but I will never endorse a flying candy bar as "official" D2X-XL ship.

Well...I guess you're an expert on such things...

I meant ugly shaped ship - due to its function only.

Perhaps you were to busy to notice that i've actually replied to thet several posts ago - inquiring about the series. Never had a confirming reply from you though.

K. K. You got yourself a grey skin as a version.

Of course nobody hinders you to install any ship and use any texturing for it you like in D2X-XL, but I will never endorse a flying candy bar as "official" D2X-XL ship.

you telling that second time and i do not get what you mean...official...Do You mean you wont post on your site if i will not do what you will...hmm...approve? Do you want to consider yourself an Avenger project leader to put a milestone on things and tell me when its done?

Official does pretty much refer to being on the site, yes. Basically the same as MB's ships.

Joffa,

I had to think a bit about how to handle your snappy replies to me here, and here's the deal: You stop talking to me that way in the future, or I'll ban you for good.

Talent is no excuse for behaving like a jerk.

Here's a video preview from one of the CGI Clone Wars Episodes showing some ships: http://www.starwars.com/video/view/000912.html

The quality isn't too great, but you still get a good impression of the ship design and - more important - texturing.
