Weird Polytron32 Bug?

Postby DialgiX » Mon Sep 06, 2010 9:36 am

On Win7 32-bit you'll be able to open Polytron but then as soon as the app starts it spams the first view button for a bit, locking you out of the controls and just gives up crashes
What!? :wallbash:
(and yes I've tried compatibitlty modes and run as admin)

the program is very buggy these days..it was intended for an old Windows SP's i guess. You can try compatibility software which emulates the win 98.

Also regard that Polytron is beta software and was never really finished so what you experience is probably a result of missing code that is hindering compatability, I cannot get it to run on Win7 at all without cluttering my system32 with outmoded DLL's.

Polytron is abandonware, nobody is developing it. So the only hope for Polytron is to grab the source code and rebuild it in a more modern programming language

If I had the free time (and experience), I would do that myself and integrate Polytron and HAXMEDIT into DLE-XP

The source code was never released... else I'd already have ported/fixed/updated it.
