Thank you all :D . The funny point to me is that I dislike the design of the F-117 too. Why did I built it ? Read my posting above.
The F-117 model wasn´t ready at all, so it was not a huge waste of time.
Much more important for me is to finish the Hammerhead, my first model. There are some pictures available in this forum.
Together with the Hammerhead we will have 4 different ships. If I find another interesting and different shape, I will built one more ship. And afterwards maybe I am good enough to help MB with his work for d2x-xl ;-).

I don't mind if people speak German around here, if they want me to understand they know what to do anyway. ;)

Yes, Sir ! Your wish is my order  .

I did only a few minor changes to the shape of the Hammerhead this week. I think, it is important to have some small breaks while developing a new ship. Otherwise you become too familar with the shape which might have mistakes. Good to see, that there is at least one more person awaiting this ship ;-) like MB, Joffa and me.
MB told me, the biggest part of the work is UVW mapping and texturing the ship. I needed approx 100 hours to built the mesh. I admit, I experimented a lot with the shape, what takes its time. But imagine how long it will take to make the textures ;-).
Another point is, that the Hammerhead will use MBs new weapons. And I think he will need some time to finish them, because he is involved in developing a 3D cockpit and he works on two ships (Wolf and the Manta).
But someday the Hammerhead will fly ;-).

Hi Joffa,

good to see some suggestions ;-). My last idea was to double the wings, mirrored on the X-Axis, but I think the polycount will be a problem. For me my version is finished as it is, but if you are interested in making changes to the shape and to built a somehow different version, I will send you the current model. Feel free to modify it as wanted. I know you as a talented designer, so maybe the members here will like your version more than mine. But I will built my special version anyway ;-), at least for myself  .
In front view you might miss something at the hight of the upper body... maybe the solution is to place the main weapons not directly at the wings but slightly lower on a kind of holding device. I am thinking about that.
Help with textures ? :thumb:

Conclusion:
I will built my special version as shown in the pictures.
I would like to see different interpretations of the ship.
It is up to the members here to decide, which version they would like to use.

I'm ready to make textures!

Be shurethat you've finished the model textures applied via UVW mapping - and if something applied - you cannot convert to formats which does not support UVW mapping. WRL - - good. 3DS - Good MAX - Good, DWG or DXF - bad
