Still haven't found a new place yet, but I built my desk here and thought I'd get some textures done. I hope to have ALL 'metl' textures done by next week.

I want to finish a few more doors, then I will release a new pack.

:Mod Edit:

Sorry had to fix the links.

'METL' Pack Released!

Postby Novacron » Mon Oct 27, 2008 2:38 am

Image
http://novacron.sitesled.com/temp/Relived_METL_pack.zip

I finally have something to release to all of you. This is my complete pack containing every 'METL' texture from Descent 2, in high resolution. I am quite pleased with this set and I hope everyone enjoys it.

There will be more packs to come similar to this, as well as a pack containing all of my textures currently complete. My next goal will be to finish as many doors as possible.

PLEASE NOTE: I am currently hosting this pack on an FTP server that may not be suitable for the pack permanently. The capacity Koolbear has so kindly let me use exceeds when the file attempts to upload. I am also aware that some of the textures provided in the pack have already been previously released, but some may have been updated to make them more seamless when tiled in-game.

Hi Nova,

awesome, thank you very much! :thumb:

One request though: Please keep all filenames in lowercase, for the Linux and Mac OS X users, alright? :)

The fan and everything else look amazing. I can't wait to use these beautiful new textures, but the download link for the fan is broken. I have the metal pack though, and I'm really happy about it.

To All Texture Contributors...

Postby Novacron » Sat Dec 06, 2008 3:29 am

I have been revving up my project a bit and would like to tell you a bit about what I plan to do.

I will be releasing COMPLETE & INCOMPLETE packs which will be separated into these categories:

Descent Relived 'Complete Pack' Incomplete
This pack contains all of the textures from the packs listed below.

'ROCK'  Pack Incomplete

'METL' Pack

'LIGHTS & FLOORS' Pack

'SIGNS, PANELS & SWITCHES' Pack Incomplete

'SPECIAL PURPOSE' Pack Incomplete

'ROBOT' Pack Incomplete

If anyone has any suggestions on the packs arrangement, feel free.

All of the high resolution powerups will also follow as well ;)

Also, I have recently overlooked everyone's great effort in making hi-res textures using the ones provided on descent2.de. The ones that really grabbed my attention are these guys (FROM THE ROCK COLLECTION):

281
286
287
302

.. I would like to know the creators of these textures if possible, because I think they would fit in nicely to the Descent Relived Project. If granted permission, I would include them in the pack, give credit to the creators and give a bit of extra detail to a couple of them.

This post would not be complete without adding a new texture as well...

Take care

Animating DOOR35

Postby Novacron » Sat Dec 13, 2008 11:01 pm

For some reason I am having such a difficult time animating door35. Rotating and moving every door so that it looks proper has been a difficult task for me. Anyone willing to grab my PSD and give it a go? This is probably the only door I would need help with. Thanks. :)

Novacron,

I can build you a series of pictures using my 3d modelling program that you can either use as templates or masters to texture on if you like.

I have done doors 36 and 47 in the current download.

Let me know.
