Everything around the Descent level editor

Every designer knows that it sometimes is very tricky to keep things orientated in perfect parallel or perpendicularity to the initial cube. While such orientation has no bearing on gameplay, it looks much nicer on the automap and has been accepted as a standard of quality. What do you think about adding a toggleable plane that would intersect a given cube and show its orientation in regards to the - for lack of a better word - ecliptic? This would probably take some doing but would definitely be helpful.
