If D2X-XL forums had an offline buzzer, with a battery on the motherboard too, this thread of yours would work.
:P
If you don't give an hour heads up at least... nah... But, the tracker is a tracker so you can just leave a game hosted for people to see. And announce that fact here! In such a case some people will look out for your game, even if you are not necessarily playing at the moment. And then more will join up and more and more. People need to be accustomed in checking the tracker once in a while, but to do that, they must be used to playing multi-player with XL...

Ah, I see.

It was just a spirit of the moment thing, I was done with a research paper and had nothing to do, so I thought I'd see if anyone was around...

I'm sorry, I've been very busy the past couple days. I would have responded faster. If you have Steam or Mumble, I hang out in the Steam group chat room and the Rebirth/Descent Task Force Mumble and I'm always looking for a game, as long as I'm not away from the computer ;)

Well I'm glad I took all the time to set that up only to find out I can't use chat unless I buy a game from Steam.

Who designed that? Ridiculous.

It really is an inconvenient system, but it's to prevent spammers. Fortunately, I have an extra game in my library that I don't really need or want leftover from Christmas. I'm feeling generous :thumb: Add childofmaud on Steam and I can send you the game, and it should turn your account into a full account.

Add childofmaud as a friend? I have to have games in my library to add friends too...

But thank you very much! I appreciate your generosity!

In that case, tell me your steam name (the name you use to sign in) and I will add you. That way, I can send you the game and your account can be activated.

I read somewhere that it doesn't work like that anymore Sykes.

To get full access, it needs to be a "purchased" game. Not a gift or trade game.

Having said that. Do let me know if that isn't the case. ;)

It is indeed the case, unfortunately.

And HOLY CRAP Sykes kicked my butt 1-on-1 today.

I gifted both descent freak and red_5 different games that I had received over the holiday giveaways, and both of their accounts became full accounts, so I'm fairly certain it works.
