Now that finally a very good and nice (and definitive) major version of D2X-XL has been born, this is what i want to say to Diedel:

Excellent job!
and thanks a lot for making the best thing it could happen to Descent ever and for all the years you have invested to this project and bear all the things (good and bad) during this time!
:thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

Hooray for Diedel & D2X-XL!!!

:bounce: :jump: :laola: :jump: :joy:  :thumb: :bounce:

Actually I wanted to take it today already, and now I even took a day off from work to fix that stupid bug messing up my biggest release ever. :(

Yes, I am stupid, no need to tell me, alright? :wallbash:

But trust me: There will be no new D2X-XL version every three days, no new features every two weeks, and no endless debugging sessions for this game anymore.

I will add MB's ships once they're done, and add any extras Darkhorse (Ben K.) will need (as long as they're feasible with an acceptably small effort) because I said I would, but that's it.

NP, sometimes this happens. Fortunately, now 1.14 works excellent :)
You've done enough already through all this years.

Two things:

A). GOOD JOB and congratulations, Diedel. You did a great job making this run smoothly and stably for a lot of different systems (It even runs great on my vista laptop :D )
B). Is v1.14 final the same as RC10, or were there further improvements made between the two?

The final 1.14.0 has further improvements (AI, Lightning and so on). It is the best version you can play.

To corroborate Frustikus, indeed 1.14 is the best version i've ever seen. :thumb:

Cool!
I'm happy that after so many years of hard work at last there's a definitive and very stable release.
So a lot of greetings to you Diedel and thanks for all your work!!

By the way, i made a quick comic-strip related to the release of 1.14:

Image
Diedel was very happy programming and preparing the new version...

Image
But there was some hard moments with a lot of bug attacks!

Image
But after all, he made it and could scape from them...

Image
...And finally, he achieved it succesfully! (even if pyro_2009 and Pumo were still 'bugging')

Congratulations!

As i always knew - your name will live forever! You made an outstanding job - you brought descent back to community better then ever. You allowed the creative juices of the others flow as never before in such field.

And although i said it many times - this cannot become old - you're a genius! and i eternally grateful to you for your efforts. Your name karx11erx|Diedel as well as such names as Parallax Interplay are allways will be associated with Descent - the greatest game of all times.

Thank you Diedel! For giving us a dream - which will never die.
