Commendations

Postby Sykes » Sun Mar 21, 2010 3:34 am

I gotta say, D2X-XL is on a roll. All of the big things are finally out of Diedel's way, and ever since 1.15 came out, the improvements have been small, but amazing. Every one of my complaints have been solved in the past few updates, and additions I couldn't even have imagined to exist (like the lightning? That looks so cool!). Not just that, but every bug I have ever reported that Diedel couldn't figure out/reproduce, or for whatever reason wasn't fixed, has now been fixed. All those little annoying bugs I kept reporting are finally closed ;) like the flare color? I remember complaining about that for a while. :D

So basically, you're doing amazing Diedel. I know there have been lots and lots of threads about this, but it's due time for another one. As always, it's running smoother and looking prettier than ever. Your work is definitely recognized and appreciated!

:jump:

Now I think it's due time for Sykes' routine Multiplayer Test Sessions to make sure it's still working as flawlessly as ever. :)

Sykes,

thank you. :)

Would you please test multiplayer coop with 3 or more players?

I agree whole heartedly with Sykes. Updates are coming in so quick I missed a few just over the last week. Thanks to the bug reporters for finding the corners where those nasty bugs lurk and the guy with icky shoes who goes in to stamp them out.

Ran some coop tests. Results are on SF.net. My computer really takes a beating when trying to test it though, because all 4 of them are calculating lightmaps at the same time and such, so to be able to accurately test how clients disconnect and reconnect, I'm going to need some helpers. Hit me up on Steam if interested.

Lightmaps are stored in the \cache directory. You only need to calculate it once, then copy the level-#.light and level-#.mesh files.

Oh, right. I meant "Setting up renderer". Having 4 copies of D2X-XL doing that at the same time is pretty nasty.
