Experimenting with making robot sounds

Postby Alter-Fox » Sat Aug 14, 2010 2:28 am

I've been experimenting for the past few hours making D1/2 style robot sounds. These are all heavily modified animal calls (like the original sounds.)

I've got four so far.

My fav so far is robot-01 attack. Made from an angry otter call. :P

I like robot02 see.

I feel a difference on volume levels though.

Hi,

robot02 is okay, but please don´t use reverb that much. Imagine 4 or more bots in one room... That noise will kill your speakers.
I like the idea more to give all the sounds an industrial touch. Take sounds from Hammer, drills, hydraulic, gas, electric motors, etc., and modify them. That was the basic idea behind the mod sound project. Join... and take the part of making robot sounds.

Take the robots/sentry voices from Portal...drop 'em in on some of the bots.

"There you are" BOOM! "There you are" BANG!

That'd be funny on a robot with guns...

*fires earthshaker missile at a bunch of robots*

"I dont hate you"

"No hard feelings"

"Naptime!"

"Put me down?" <<< If Omega's used.
