Yeah, I often have to whiteboard stuff like that... there's just too many states to keep in mind at the same time.

Then again, I apparently have to do the same thing for stuff as simple as rotating points as well :( I kind of envy the 3D math wizards who can figure this sort of thing out easily, but I presume that comes from much more experience and practice with the domain.

Now I need to think up a pun about String Theory.
:sigh: if only I understood modern physics.

I'm pretty sure ancient physics didn't function any differently :thumb:

I think it was Feynman who said that anyone who tells you they understand quantum physics is lying.

P.S. On strncpy_s: probably the poster child for pointless _s functions. I do still use most of those (enforced /W4...) but it does look a little hokey if string2 = new char[strlen(string1)+1] anyway.

I suppose at the end of all this you'll be able to write a big long rant to Microsoft listing all the bugs you found! :lolol:

That was technically the joke. I can't tell you how it was the joke though. That would ruin the joke.

I still wish I could go and find out if extra lives were subject to the powerup bug. :)

What I should have done that time when all the red keys were there was leave and come back so you could see me picking them all up (as they'd be turned into shields for me, like that one time I joined).

Extra lives are just a normal powerup. Aside from the energy powerup, no other powerups were effected by that bug (actually, I believe it was the combined effect of multiple bugs). The only powerups effected were objective-related powerups, like keys, flags, and hoard pickups.

I still stand by the "I should have left and rejoined" comment. :)

DLE worked fine on my windows 7 build too. (some 1.8.1_ version of the latest ones, if the bug was ever-present there)

Other than that I will, trust me, me not having the latest version means me not using it. Good work with the latest strides in DLE development. It's starting to become very stable.

With that in mind, allow me to generate this thread for those interested: http://www.descent2.de/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=2627
This could mean a nice cross platform port of Devil, an also wanted and hard to get used to editor nowadays. This striven by this project portability will change a lot in Descent building, and in combination with DLE-XP, the Mission builder will obtain a full toolkit and diversified choices in their work (see Pumo :P)
