That is the best use of a 3d cockpit.

That, and dynamic interior lighting and particle effects to dramatize. That for future machines prolly.

Is the hotmail.com address still a good place to send to? Sometimes things change and I don't keep up :)

After playing many demos and games on the Rift, I cannot emphasize enough the importance of including IPD and FOV adjustments. With the exception of Valve, many professional developers out there are dropping the ball on this function, spitballing support without putting much thought put into the fidelity of the experience. Please (if you haven't already) consider this function in D2X-XL, and experience for yourself what a difference the correct IPD and FOV makes.

Invasive Pneumococcal Disease?
Curious, I looked up the acronym on wikipedia but I couldn't find anything relevant to video games or VR headsets. And I tried google but got the same stuff as wikipedia. Maybe the Occulus Rift needs special features if you've got Impulsive Personality Disorder? Or officers from the Indianapolis Police Department like to use it in certain unusual ways? (Yes I know what that sounds like  ). I'm really mystified.

Unlike most people, I like that feeling.
But for those of us who are most people, some clarification, even just saying what IPD stands for, would be appreciated because researching the acronym isn't working. I'll sacrifice myself.

Hmmm, that means IPD is user-specific. Interesting, but so obviously essential, after knowing.

IPD is user specific because not everybody's eyes have the same distance from each other. ;)

You can already adjust that in D2X-XL (it's called "stereo separation" there).

Actually DLE's source has been open for some time for anyone to contribute. Of course if changes are to be merged to the main project karx has to evaluate the submitted. Well sirius for that matter simply kicks *** in DLE development and works closely with karx, so nothing really has changed. Or to the better actually.

I apologize for not getting back to you on that. I'm glad it was already part of the design, it really makes all the difference in the world. I've been playing around with the early CryEngine support and bad IPD will wear ya down fast.
