Light precalculation

Did i understood correctly - engine does precalculate lighting data - kinda like Quake 1 shadow maps before starting a level?

Not quite. For each vertex in the level, the light sources influencing that vertex are searched and stored in a table for that vertex. I am not creating any shadow maps.
