Recent CPU optimization?

I've noticed as of late my CPU fan doesn't fire up nearly as much as it used to while playing D2X-XL.

No it's not broken, it still runs full blast as it always has when playing Call of Duty

I'm guessing there have been some optimizations?

You don't read it? :omg:

I may not understand all of it but I am always interested in what Diedel is doing to the game.

development blah is updated more frequently and contains more information and interesting little tweaks. It also contains all his rants about Microsoft's poor coding for C#, plus the strange bugs he's found in D2X-XL's code, and details of minor improvements he's made which aren't simply bug fixes. You've got quite a lot of catching up to do! Fascinating stuff, though. :)

Red, do you need a setup like this for your COD sessions?

Why don't we just soak our rigs inside a tank full of replaceable coolant? (liquid nitrogen can be good, we can use superconducting materials there)

Heh, this here MacBook certainly makes a sound like that when playing COD...

I find it funny, really. It's soooo quiet during normal use but when it heats up it's like a Boeing.

That's a great idea! Then we could crank up all the eye candy to max without melting our graphics cards.

I totally love that photo of the computer with the tumble dryer vents. There's something very ironic about the flame motif on the side of the case....plus the fact there are TWO vents, not one! :lolol:

My cousin actually hooked his computer up to his houses cooling system, It's funny to see copper piping leaving the back of his computer and into the radiator.
