I wish the poll would allow more than one choice per user. Enemywithin is a master creation, but the other don't fall behind short at all. Except perhaps for one ore two, hence the poll problem.

Oh, wow! Time for details!
:guru:

EDIT: Of course that way, conflicting votings can occur, so we rely on the good will of the voter to vote consistently.

My first vote of the three would be for Descent Second Strike, which is a Descent Second Strike conversion. The theme is you have to go back to the Solor system to clean out a re-infestation, you have new hybrid bots to battle, additional secrete levels taken from PS3 Destination Saturn and some Descent2 class weapon power ups hidden throughout. As an additional treat you can add the original descent midi sound tract. Aside from a two buggy switches in level ten that are easy to avoid this 30 level set is flawless fun and simply reeks with nostalgia. I get all warm and fuzzy writing about it.
If it's not Descent it is just another interactive screen saver.

I would have voted for TEW if the difficulty hadn't been so high in the initial version, and I haven't come around to play the toned down one.

I vote for The Enemy Within, Descent Vignettes and Obsidian. For me, those are the best big and badass missions you could ever find with no doubt.
Period. :)

I don't understand why there's all this focus on the ratings of single-player missions all of a sudden? :clue:

Kak has become very interested in single player missions, and is very... thorough ;) It's nice to have someone so focused on it though, to be honest. I hate single player, so I focus entirely on multiplayer. Someone as energetic as I am, but focusing on single player stuff, could be good for the community.

No harm done in these polls though, I'm sure it's just out of curiosity.

True. I do happen to be that guy who picks the "Don't know/no opinion" option in most polls.

That's because alot of the "best-big" and "badass" missions are yours Sirius.

Most people have played the newer version I think. And robot challenge is by far not the single aspect of this mission set. Although it is the primary gameplay aspect. The super-high difficulty can be frustrating yes, but if a user sees past is, the mission still gets a good rating in my opinion.

That is correct.

Voted the bottom three because I could.

My real vote is really just the last option. I'm not really one who likes all this talk about "WHICH ONE IS THE BEST".

Actually, it kinda angers me a little to tell the truth, but it's all for fun and such, right? Even if I don't like this much I'm interested to see how it turns out.
Some people are like Slinkies. They aren't really good or even useful for anything but they always manage to put a little smile on your face when you give them enough of a push down the stairs.

Hmm. Yeah, I did work on four of them actually. Unfortunately two of the remaining three I either haven't played (Hydro) or don't remember well enough to really want to rank it (Lost Levels). So, this one more than most I just can't vote on, wouldn't be fair :)

You should really get around to it Diedel. As for the difficulty, we COMPLETELY nerfed the robots for Trainee and Rookie, a good chunk of their lethality removed from Hotshot, and some minor downgrades in Ace. Insane was not touched at all to my knowledge. So if you really 'want' that hardcore challenge, Insane is where its at.
