Midi volumes cannot be adjusted, and will always stay at maximum volume. I'm going to see if I can reproduce this with the default windows midi synthesizer when I get home. I'll also upload the system specs of the other machine it occurs on as well.

Re: Bug: Midi volume cannot be adjusted

The issue seems to be related to non-windows midi drivers such as BassMidiDrv. With the default windows midi driver installed the volume was adjustable. Coolsoft VirtualSynth suffered the same fate.

I'll admit I just wanted to use midi because the soundfont I have is really good, but does anyone know how to get the volume working? If not I suppose I'll make an OGG collection of the converted midis. Anyone want such a pack? Soundfont I'm using is Jazman GM 24-bit (commercial $44).

Thx for the sig hint.

Did you set "-midifix 1" in d2x.ini? If so, your best bet is to use ogg versions of the midi songs and create a playlist for D2X-XL to play them back.

That was actually going to be my likely solution, especially since midifix is indeed 1. Especially since I know I'm an edgecase using non-standard software synths (still good to have in the general knowledge pool in case someone has volume issues you can check if they're using a third party midi synth). You can feel free to close the bug in that case. Just reading up on making playlists right now.

Now I just have to decide which soundfont to record them in. Thanks for getting back to me so quick!
