I got it working last night. It turned out all I needed to do was update my graphics drivers. I never imagined D2 could look this good!

Thanks everyone for your help!

I am starting to wonder how many people cursing D2X-XL for being a buggy piece of crap should simply update their drivers ...

Do you have an FAQ of "common problems" somewhere? It sounds like one is called for...

He does have a FAQ page with that type of question, but the answer doesn't go as far as to suggest to try updating your video drivers.

The graphics are AWESOME!!!

I downloaded the latest version of dle-xp and I've started to build a level to try it out. So far the level looks awesome.

So far, I haven't encountered any major bugs playing D2X-XL - I've only had one crash, and the only other problem was that at one time the shadow of a robot was still on the wall after the robot was destroyed. To me, those problems are barely worth mentioning next to the extra features and, of course, modern graphics.

Great work Diedel!
