Thanks for the smiley face Diedel!

Well if the timing is right. I could try and make it to some MP games! ;)

EDIT: Oh yeah, Pumo Mines is goin' nicely. After struggling with some scripting tests, I managed to finish the scripting on Level 4a. :P

And I think soon I will have the time to end Level 4b
(and I've also have done some of the textures for the next levels)

I have been looking through your custom textures recently. They are so well done. I am really marvelling at what you are achieving with D2X-XL.

I wish Ben K hadn't given up on building D2X-XL missions. You and he would be a great team to build something really extraordinary together (maybe give the Kartsal mission development process a boost).

Azure Catacombs XL is definitely one of my favorite maps. As long as I'm not in class or something (blast you, time zones!) I'd love to get in on some epic action!

Warning: I'm pretty rusty...

Yap, same here.
Well, I'm not that rusty.

Once we have a time and place I can announce it at the DTF (or Wolfie can or whoever :P).

EDIT:
Time and place? Lol I wasn't thinking.

I can. Will also place a post on Rebirth's (dodges and runs away ultra-fast   ) forum as well. Since though we only have the #Descent IRC channel to go about communication (#dxx-rebirth too (runs to that invulnerability)), and updating the tracker otherwise, then we have to be very precise with the game starting time. I mean the game should be up and idling or test playing for about half and hour for people to keep coming in.
And then start the real game. I am worried about fitting 12 players in there, let alone 16 that the map supports.

So we should actually make a separate thread for the event.

We have had 12 player games going in a few of my bigger maps, and they were a blast. It's great to be able to support enough players to fill a big, cool map and have fun in it.

Yeah I know, D3 20 player games where a blast too. I'm just worried about Azure Catacombs in specific. It also has a shaker, so with 16 players... "One shaker to kill them all..." Will definitely be a blast for that matter. And maybe try out moar CTF+ maps in that session.

This sounds like fun. Depends on the time (like everyone else said), but I'd definitely want to participate. I've never played a descent game with that many people. Not even in D3. I never cared much for it.

Perhaps I'll announce this on the Ranger's forum too. I know there are a few CTF fans among them, who might like to play. I think we'll have to look everywhere to get 12-16 people who can all play at the same time.

Tell them that D2X-XL offers 'real' CTF - not the broken version of Descent 2.

Standard D2 CTF is so poor I'm not sure its fans are looking for a real game. After playing D3's version I wondered how Parallax got it so wrong in D2.

FYI, I haven't abandoned the idea of doing D2 missions entirely, I'm just not doing solo projects anymore.

One thing that would possibly be helpful: send out invites via Facebook or similar once you have a time - I think those show up on my phone, which makes it much harder for me to forget about them...

well if you're gonna add 16 player starts, might as well add more weapons to accommodate the extra players.
