An experiment - Arbiter Grounds

Well, I've been playing !!!NYSA!!! recently (probably because it is the one being most frequently played) and I can't see any other reason people love it so much other than its a good level for racking up quick, easy, fast kills. So with THAT PURPOSE in mind, I built this level and plugged in Azure/Lost Level weapons to further the cause of quick kills! All the weapons may seem cheap at first if you're killed by them easily, but remember, just grab any of the primaries, or secondaries and you'll find you can kill them just as fast as they can kill you! Everyone is on even ground in this level! Let the chaos begin!

I'm going to give it a checking-out right now

UPDATE: I could definitely see things getting very hectic in this map. Side halls with some geometric coolness to dodge around and then larger open areas in the middle to totally blow people away. Very nice use of architecture. Nothing uber fancy, but detailed such that it makes a very satisfying map. Reminds me strongly of a few of the D3 maps I've played back in the day...

This is the best my laptop could do with XL. So this is the XL screenshot you get. :-/

That must be from a pretty old XL version - or it would have the logo printed in the screenshot.

Ver 1.15.273 - not terribly old. In fact its relatively recent version. As of two weeks or so.

It doesn't print the logo in the screenshots. :thumbdn:

As a matter of fact it shouldn't with HUD on. If I remember correctly logos are for the HUD-less screenshots right? I thought at first you didn't implement it that way, but it seems like you did. DFW should have improvised to print a HUD-less screenshot. :P

EDIT: Oh wait, the logo implementation is not even two weeks old? My bad. :D

EDIT2: @karx. Well that particular screenshot ain't exactly promotional of XL so maybe it's for the better :D (pardon your laptop on my behalf DFW :P)

D2X-XL will always print its logo in screenshots - HUD on or off (at least I thought I had implemented it that way)

That's half due to her weak computer, and half due to her special taste regarding texturing. ;)

Those are some of my favourite D3 textures too... :(

Speaking of which I wish D3 textures were 256x256 and not 128x128... They would be perfect for XL...

Well is this laptop really considered weak:

AMD Phenom II P820 Triple-Core Processor 1.80 Ghz
4.00 GB RAM
Radeon HD 4200 Video w/ 512 MB onboard

That graphics card doesn't look significantly weaker than my notebook's, where D2X-XL runs fine with everything enabled.

Interesting. My buddy's laptop has the same graphics card and runs D2X-XL just fine, although it can't handle smoke all that well.

Yours should be able to do it... I've run the game on considerably worse hardware.

I think that Wolfie's computer's setup is the problem rather than D2X-XL. A pretty perpetual problem with her computer setups that is.

I bet that if I had Wolfie's laptop in my hands it'd take me less than five minutes to find out what the problem is and very probably also to fix it.
