More hot news! (finally, after so much time).

After playing a bit more with cockpit design, i've ended with a really nice cockpit, much better than the old one.
I think this time it really suits the mission (and the ship design) ;)

Aus-Red, when Pumo does release it, could you please explain HOW you will make it the default cockpit. Please? :)

I hope it will be truly Hi-Res too. I was pretty exited about the cockpit in TEW but found that at the resolution I use (1280*960) it is not any better in detail than the original cockpit. :(

All you should need to to is turn the bitmaps to TGAs and store them in D2X-XL's textures folder under the right names. Pumo could do a true hires cockpit that way just by scaling up his cockpit graphics.

Extract them from the level's pog file (e.g. with the DTX2 tool).

In this case you would run DTX2 and open TEW HOG file. View the contents of it and select a POG file and save/ extract it some place.
Then open the POG file and browse through it with the image manager. Select the image/s you want and save/ extract it.

For the cockpit. You'll need to select & save ALL cockpit components to make it look correctly.

Plus you'll need to edit the cockpit window by adding an alpha channel and do a bit of this and that and so on......

Yeah that's right, you'll need to add transparency through an alpha channel to all see-through areas with some image editor.
