I probably will tweak the Enemy Within robots to suit the purposes of the mission. It's too early to say how though.

I'll take your level into consideration Alter-Fox but don't get too carried away just yet... there are still things that need sorting out before it's "OK go nuts" time with the level building. One of which is that I'll probably need some forum to discuss things, float ideas, get feedback etc - not really comfortable with this thread - and the second, if this turns out being a flagship mission for a Nexuiz-based Descent clone, things are going to be pretty different anyway.

You will get your own developers forum area with limited access, no worries. ;)

Hope these look okay...

I know, the textures need some work in this room. It's curved a bit more too, so it's not too blockey.

I still have a lot more to build :)

Whether this is going to be in D2X-XL or not, you should really push the geometry to at least UT standard.

I've never played UT... but I just realized I couldn't donate this level anyway, as it would either completely mess up all the other HXM's, or not work properly.

I have something I'm working on that could probably work for level 2. I've even composed music for it.

I'd like to help if I can.
I am quite fluent in DMB2/DLE-XP (made my first D2 level when I was 9 or so) but have no creativity. I can also do almost anything using triggers. Basically, give me a sketch (or maybe a level in some other 3D format) and I'll make it, say you want a trigger to do X and I'll do it.
Perhaps if I learn enough C++ before then, I can help Diedel with the engine (I am currently fixing all the duplicate/missing hotkeys on the menus).

I'm sure that sort of thing could be arranged when appropriate... at the moment I'm waiting for news and finishing my thesis... I do have a draft briefing for the first level, but that's about all I can do at this stage.

I do not believe that was off topic. Alter was just saying that if he were to help build levels he would need someone else to align the textures. Moving it to it's own thread implies that he wanted to learn how to align textures which I believe was not his intent.

Aligning textures is a useful skill regardless.

The issue was settled through PM.

If I had left the post. Someone would have come along and tried answering your question, therefor taking the topic further off topic.
I've seen this happen MANY times in this forum.

If I'm guilty of anything? It would be me being a bit premature in splitting the thread.

However. I feel I did the right thing and so does Diedel.

Any further issues? Take it to PM please.

Now.... :ot:

Pokeman went OT. Where is the problem of putting that in its own thread?

Aus-RED-5 is admin here for a reason, and the reason is that I fully trust him and that he does a good job. He has full backup by me, so no more pointless ranting!
