Is it possible to make a hostage model that won't spin around like the weapons or power-ups?
Though the feet of the model many not touch the ground, it wouldn't need to since the mines have little to no gravity.
Only prob I can see you might have is animating the model.

An beta version of Hostage-Model is already done, but animations are not working atm, as I know.
When, the forum customisation is done, I will continue my modeller job

Rebirth post :)
ok just few question about hostages, in textures downloads (hires-special.rar) is an animated hostage and other in models section downloads (hostage.zip) what is the new one? I think this last is better but... not animated... why?
and I would like to give you an idea about make another hostages (little) to show only when you play in (ctl+f12 mode) in order to give a proportionate aspect between them and the ship... what do you think?

Well, yeap, i think that this topic is indeed old, so it may be a better idea to open a new one regarding the hostage issue, but at least you have showed us that you searched on the forum first, and that's good.
Just if it's too old, even if it already exists you might want to open a new topic.
But we'll see what Diedel thinks...
EDIT: And BTW, hi-res models are unfortunately not animated.
It's a bit hard to animate ASE models on D2X-XL for Diedel, so currently D2X-XL only supports animating of old traditional D2 models.

Who do you think you are? -> 2 weeks ban, do it again and you're gone for good.
tsk.

Xavier,
there's a hires 2D model of the hostage (sprite), but there is also a 3D model (which does not wave the hand). If you enable 3D models, you will see the 3D hostage model.

BTW, now that we're talking about this, i've recently made a hostage texture for Pumo Mines, but as characters on Pumo Mines are not exactly human (they are an alien race called Nerkians) proportions may look very wrong for a normal D2 hostage.
(they have tiny proportions with somewhat big heads)
But if someone wants to check it out, just tell me. (texture resolution is 128x128, he waves his hands and he has a PMC logo on the suit)
