Return after life

Postby FinnFann » Sat Jul 18, 2015 4:30 pm

Hey all. Just got back from well...life. New job has been gotten, yada yada.

Just ran D2x-xl's latest version for the first time in a few weeks and good job everybody :)
It's running so much smoother at higher graphics. Always great to come back to an improved project, especially one that's improved this much so fast. Gotta make another preview video now at some point, though D:

Congrats FinnFann it's a good feeling to nail down a job. I'm sure we all know how easily real life can take us away from Descent. Speaking of which, it's good to hear from you Weyrman. If either of you ever feel like attempting some D2X-XL multiplayer hit me up. I can't always make it (more of that real life stuff) but the few times I've played recently have been a blast. You too Pumo. It would be fun to fly together again.

I might be up for a game next week sometime if it's timed right. Now that D2X-XL's working properly again... :D

Not sure yet. Depends what my shifts will be like at work and when I'll get the chance to do music.
Actually did a track for Xfing's project, I need to get around to asking other musicians in the Descent community to do some.

EDIT: Removed other "EDIT".

I sleep 4-6 hours a night as a matter of course so there must be some of my day that overlaps with yours, especially on a weekend. I'll see what I can figure out.

Alter-Fox, just let me know when you know.

I might be available in the evening on tuesday or wednesday. I'll definitely be available thursday evening though so that's probably the time to plan for. This is on Central Time btw.

As it turns out, Thursday evening is probably my best bet this week too. I'm going to be at a festival from Friday through Monday so I'll be more or less technology free for the weekend. Thursday I should be available from around 9:00pm to 2:00am EST (GMT-5). Alter-Fox are you able to host? I seem to remember some difficulty there because I can't (unconfigurable router). If not maybe we can interest another person who can host. Shadowheyena might be up for it.

Weyrman, I think there's a 13 hour gap between us meaning that if we get to play it will be morning for one of us and evening for the other. I could definitely make it work but probably not until next weekend (August 9th or 10th). Are you a night player or a day player? On the right day I could conceivably do either one.

Alright Alter-Fox! It's almost 9:00pm for me and I'm home and ready to fly (if we can indeed connect). I'd definitely like to give it a try. I've used Steam to communicate with people to play D2X-XL. I don't see you in the XL Steam group but I know you use many different names. If you like, send me a friend request. I'm in the group (same name, avatar, etc.)

Weyrman I do see you and I'll friend you. I know I'll be able to find a time when I could play during one of your evenings. The most likely days for me to do that are Sunday and Monday when I'm not at work in the morning. This coming week though I will be completely occupied Sunday and probably half dead on Monday as a result so maybe the week after (August 9th and 10th)?

I'm sorry, I was so tired this evening I forgot what we'd planned.
I'll probably be available for an hour or two tomorrow evening if nothing comes up.

But if neither of us can host and nobody else is available there isn't much point anyway. I'm Soot Leopard on the steam group, and I added you.
