Re: Return after life
Now we're Steam friends
. No worries. I've got a lot of preparation to do tonight anyway. I'll be at a dance festival from tomorrow afternoon until Sunday night and then I'll be exhausted. Maybe sometime next week. Perhaps we can round up a host by then. Do we have to open ports to connect directly via an exchange of IP addresses?

Re: Return after life
Yeeah, I've tried that before and it doesn't work without port forwarding.
Most of the games I play are on LAN with my brother and a friend so it hasn't been a big deal for me. Descent is the only online gaming community I can stand for more than two minutes anyway.

Re: Return after life
Let's see if we can find a willing host then. Damn, I sound like an alien don't I? Yeah my experiences with the various members of the Descent community have been overwhelmingly positive. We've got a lot of good people.

Re: Return after life
Due to my recent server migration, the tracker IP address has changed. Please use 82.165.136.196 for the "official" D2X-XL tracker. You can set it in config/d2x.ini. The tracker's port address has not changed, as it does not depend on the server, but is built into the tracker itself.

Re: Return after life
Cool! Thanks for the info. I assume that the new tracker will be included by default in the .ini file downloaded with future releases?

Re: Return after life
Yes, it will. I already changed the code accordingly to add it as default tracker.

Re: Return after life
Hi Diedel, I just installed a fresh copy of D2X-XL and the d2x.ini contains these two tracker IPs:
-num_trackers 2
-tracker1 87.106.88.224:9424
-tracker2 66.199.187.57:9424
Which differ from the one in this thread, so I added it to the list so that it looks like this:
-num_trackers 3
-tracker1 87.106.88.224:9424
-tracker2 66.199.187.57:9424
-tracker3 82.165.136.196:9424
Neither Yoshimitsu and I can find any trackers in-game though. Oddly enough, if we ping the 82.165.136.196 address we get a response! Could the server be up but the tracker program isn't running anymore?
